Record entries for the Rotax MAX Challenge International Trophy South America 2023 in Lima, Peru are going to make this karting event one not to miss this season! No in its twelfth year, the RMCIT South America will take place from June 27th to July 1st, 2023 at Kartodromo La Chutana and is regarded as “the most important karting event in the region”.
Over more than a decade, the RMCIT South America has welcomed many international and local competitors to share their passion for karting and enjoy the racing hospitality, hosting the event in different locations throughout the region. There are already 280 drivers registered for Peru from almost 20 countries including Asia, Europe and the United States, in addition to the South American nations. It also offers the fantastic opportunity to compete for the RMC Grand Finals 2023 tickets to race against the Rotax champions from around the world in the Kingdom of Bahrain this December. Seven Rotax classes are on the program at the RMCIT South America 2023. There’s also a special prize being awarded to the winner of the Rotax 125 MAX Masters; the champion will now have the chance to represent their own national team at the RMCGF 2023 in the Rotax E20 E-Kart category.
“The RMCIT South America organization is very pleased with the amount of interest we have had already in this year’s event. We expect to see absolute record entries in all categories and look forward to meeting some new drivers as well joining us from outside of South America,” commented Claudia Toledo, RMCIT South America Director. “We are so happy to become part of this important Rotax initiative [for the future of karting] and we saw this tremendous opportunity to promote the Rotax E20 electric kart right here within our own region”.
Entries are open for the Rotax Micro MAX, Mini MAX, Junior MAX, Senior MAX, MAX Masters, DD2 and DD2 Masters. For the younger children who are starting their sporting career in karting, there is also the promotional Baby category for kids from 4 years of age. The ‘La Chutana’ circuit located just south of the coastal capital city of Lima (originally the City of Kings), Peru is set below the mountains within the Autodromo complex. It has recently had some significant upgrades to the track layout to further improve the overall racing experience. With an altitude of 220m above sea level, the local temperature is expected to be around 15°C on average at the time of the South American event.
