BRP-Rotax, together with Authorised Rotax Distributor Kart-Shop Italia, is pleased to announce that the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Festival will be held at Circuito Internazionale di Napoli in Sarno on August 30th - 31st, 2025. This championship dedicated to Micro MAX and Mini MAX takes place for the very first time in Italy, often referred to as ‘the heart of karting’. Both title winners will be awarded RMC Grand Finals 2025 tickets to the season finale in Bahrain on November 29th to December 6th.
The RMC Grand Festival weekend will be run alongside a round of the RMC Italy (south), where all the Rotax MAX classes are scheduled over the two-day program. These include: Junior MAX, Senior MAX, DD2, DD2 Masters (32+) and DD2-G (50+). International competitors are also invited to participate. The points will count for all local entries towards the Italian championship standings. However, there’s no doubt the local drivers will be out to secure their place on the grid in Bahrain against the visitors who sign up for the competition.
This event is one week before the final round of the RMC Euro Trophy, September 3rd to 7th, which provides the ideal opportunity for the teams and competitors interested in practicing. It offers the best chance to prepare in an actual race situation and conditions, or for anyone who may want to go racing within this high level international line-up at a world-renowned kart circuit like Napoli. The 1,670-meter CIK-FIA homologated track was the selected host for the celebrated 25th anniversary of the RMCGF last October. ‘Sarno’ is regarded as being a fast, technically challenging layout that promises to produce some fantastic racing action.
Grand Festival organiser, Kart-Shop Italia, started selling and promoting Rotax MAX Engines in Italy in 2012. The shop is located in Desenzano del Garda, five minutes from the well-known South Garda kart track in Lonato. As the Authorised Rotax Distributor with a long family history with the Rotax brand, they are responsible for the Rotax MAX Challenge Italy. This season the national RMC series includes eight rounds across the northern and southern zones, beginning and ending at the historic Jesolo kart circuit. The fundamental philosophy of Kart-Shop Italia is based on the original RMC idea; where they aim to deliver fair, close competition with the expected Rotax reliability and parity, and quality service.
“Our team is proud to be chosen as the host for the long-established RMC Grand Festival and we’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone to Sarno this August,” says Reto Carigiet from Kart-Shop Italia. “Holding such a prominent annual Rotax event in Italy, along with the ACI (federation), is always a great possibility to show the Italian circuits. The focus is set for the Micro- and Mini MAX drivers, developing their skills with a memorable, fun experience. We give the youngest competitors the exciting chance to win their RMCGF ticket to join the world’s top Rotax drivers for the showdown in the Kingdom of Bahrain this year.”
“The Micro MAX and Mini MAX categories have created a solid basis for youngsters entering karting, making it also essential to have an exclusive event like the RMC Grand Festival,” says Peter Oelsinger, General Manager BRP-Rotax / Member of the Management Board, Vice President Sales, Marketing RPS-Business & Communications. “At BRP-Rotax, we care about supporting a new generation who love to race and nurturing future motorsport stars. Our partners in Italy will provide an international platform where they learn from each other.”
There will be more opportunities for test days during July and August prior to the race event. Details can be found about available dates and equipment support from local teams online at https://www.rotaxmaxkart.it/rotax-grand-festival-sarno-2025/ - updated soon with more info.
