BRP-Rotax proudly announces that its full lineup of Rotax 125 MAX Evo Kart Engines and E20 Powertrain has received official CIK-FIA Approval since the 2024 racing season. This milestone covers the entire range of engines, from the single-speed Rotax Micro MAX, Mini MAX, Junior MAX, and Senior MAX, as well as the two-speed gearbox-equipped DD2 and the E20 categories.
The approval, granted by the International Automobile Federation (FIA) following extensive assessments by CIK-FIA representatives in Austria, reaffirms that Rotax Kart Engines meet the strict criteria of the International Karting Regulations. At national level, this validation assists in supporting the global network for the Rotax MAX Challenge in line with their local federation requirements.
BRP-Rotax, a leader in innovative engine manufacturing for over a century, has deep roots in karting. The company introduced its first karting engine in the 1970s and has achieved multiple championships, including European and World titles. With the debut of the revolutionary 125 MAX engine in 1997, featuring a two-stroke, water-cooled design with push-button start, Rotax transformed the sport, delivering unparalleled performance, affordability, and accessibility.
“The CIK-FIA Approval for our Rotax Kart Engines is a proud achievement for our team and a significant milestone for our global karting network. This recognition underscores the trust our customers place in the quality, performance, and reliability of our engines. With this approval, we’re not only celebrating past successes but also laying a strong foundation for the future of Rotax in karting,” so Peter Oelsinger, General Manager BRP-Rotax / Member of the Management Board, Vice President Sales, Marketing RPS-Business & Communications about this milestone for the Rotax Karting engines.
