Bem vindo and welcome to the 22nd edition of the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals (RMCGF) being hosted at the Kartodromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão. Once again, the bond that stretches across the global Rotax family is continued with this highlight of the racing season, where we will witness 394 drivers from across the world compete over the next week at a fantastic venue for the prestigious honour of becoming RMCGF champion.

Another milestone in the longlasting history of Rotax Karting took place this week: the 125.000th edition of a Rotax 125 MAX engine left the assembly line at BRP-Rotax in Gunskirchen, Austria. Introduced in 1997, the Rotax 125 MAX engine can proudly be named a success story.

We’re on the #roadtoportimao – together with 396 enthusiastic Rotax competitors from more than 60 countries plus their technicians, teams and supporters, for the ultimate showdown of the season. It is the celebration of the RMC champions and the drivers who qualify from around the world. This will be the biggest Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals to date in the 23-year history of this amazing karting event, which is uniquely LIKE NO OTHER championship in this sport.
It’s the fourth time that the RMCGF returns to Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve (previously 2012, 2015 & 2017) and the fifth occasion since Viana do Castelo 2006 in the north, that Portugal has been the host.

Former F1 race driver and four time class winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Jan Magnussen, who was competing at the event in the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia, was clearly impressed by the power of the Rotax E20.

The season results in the Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy have been decided. In Wackersdorf, Bavaria, challenging conditions over the last weekend made for a particularly exciting final phase. Eventful races on mostly wet asphalt resulted in four new winners of the day. With Ethan Jeff-Hall (Junior MAX), Sean Butcher (Senior MAX), Mark Kimber (DD2) and Denis Thum (DD2 Masters), the new champions of the international Rotax racing series were also crowned at Prokart Raceland.

This weekend, things will get serious at the Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy. In Wackersdorf, Bavaria, the international championship is looking forward to its last two races of the 2022 season. The state-of-the-art Prokart Raceland with its 1,197-meter track length ensures optimal conditions and already promises a lot of excitement in the duel for the last points in the championship classifications. A total of nine tickets for participation in the RMC Grand Finals in Portugal are still available.

The first ever Swedish E-Kart Championship took place at the GTR Motorpark (Green Track Resort) in Eskilstuna over the weekend to crown the 2022 champions in the Rotax E20 Junior and Senior classes, Joel Bergström and Jesper Sjöberg respectively, where the competitors battled for the victory in some torrential and windy conditions at times during the racing. The debut of the national E-Kart event was a new addition to the program at the annual Prince Carl Philip’s Racing Trophy and Swedish Rotax MAX Challenge series.

BRP-Rotax is glad to announce a new race, namely the E-Kart Race organized by the DMSW (Deutsche Motor Sport Wirtschaftsdienst) as part of the Ger-man Kart Championship (DKM) in Wackersdorf, Germany from September 23-25, 2022. Drivers aged 12 and over can take part in the event at Prokart Raceland Wackersdorf.

The Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals returns once more to the ever popular Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve (KIA) from November 19-26 this year, for the 22nd edition of the racing season highlight. KIA will welcome the Rotax community again for the fourth time in the history of this amazing event.

A beautiful sunny day at the fabulous Erftlandring in Kerpen welcomed drivers from different countries in the Rotax Micro MAX and Mini MAX classes. To make the day complete, the RMC Grand Festival was held together with the 5th round of the Dutch Rotax MAX Challenge, organised and promoted by Chrono Karting. Exciting races in all classes and the great weather made for a fabulous day in Germany.
